1. Course Bookings
All ALS course bookings are subject to this cancellation policy. Completion of a booking form, invoice acceptance, or online payment constitutes acceptance of these terms.
2. RCUK Registration, Manual & Postage Fee
A £75 non-refundable fee applies to all ALS course bookings. This fee covers:
• Resuscitation Council UK (RCUK) course registration
• Official ALS course manual
• Administration and postage
The £75 fee is non-refundable in all circumstances, once the booking has been confirmed, irrespective of cancellation date or attendance.
3. Candidate Cancellation
All cancellations must be submitted in writing by email.
• More than 6 weeks before the course date
A refund will be issued minus the £75 non-refundable RCUK registration, manual and postage fee.
• Between 4 and 6 weeks before the course date
A 50% refund of the course fee, excluding the £75 non-refundable fee, will be issued.
At Heartbeat Medical’s discretion, the candidate may transfer to a future course date (subject to availability) and may incur additional administration costs of up to £75 for registration and administration.
• Less than 4 weeks before the course date
100% of the course fee is payable. No refund will be issued, including the £75 non-refundable fee.
• Failure to attend (Did Not Attend)
No refund or transfer will be offered.
4. Candidate Substitution
A substitute delegate may attend in place of the original candidate up to 21 days before the course date, provided that:
• The substitute meets ALS eligibility requirements
• All required pre-course learning is completed
• Written notification is received in advance
Candidate substitution may incur an administration charge of up to £75, to cover RCUK registration changes, course manual, administration, and postage fees.
RCUK registration amendments are subject to RCUK rules and may not always be possible.
5. Exceptional Circumstances
Requests for cancellation or deferral due to exceptional circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Supporting evidence may be requested.
The £75 RCUK registration, manual and postage fee remains non-refundable in all circumstances. All decisions made by Heartbeat Medical are final.
6. Course Cancellation or Reduction by Heartbeat Medical
If Heartbeat Medical must cancel a course or reduce the number of candidates on a course, candidates will be offered:
• An alternative course date, or
• A refund of the course fee
If the RCUK manual has already been issued or posted, the £75 RCUK registration, manual and postage fee may be retained and deducted from any refund.
Heartbeat Medical accepts no liability for additional costs incurred by candidates.
